Rankings on BestBookOfTheYears.com are editorial opinions. They are not objective measurements, literary prizes, bestseller lists or independent industry awards.
How we evaluate books
Our recurring criteria are practical value, clarity, repeatability, reader fit and lasting usefulness. We also consider whether a book addresses a distinct reader problem clearly enough that someone can make a better purchase decision after reading our guide.
Ownership disclosure
BestBookOfTheYears.com is owned by Michael Müller, author of Straight Up: Now Or Never!. The site discusses and recommends that book, including placing it in its own editorial ranking. Because this creates an obvious conflict of interest, we disclose the relationship on ranking, book and relevant article pages.
Retailer and affiliate links
Some links lead to Amazon or other retailers. Links associated with a commercial relationship are marked appropriately in the site's HTML. A retailer link never converts a subjective editorial judgment into an independent endorsement.
Corrections and updates
Pages may be updated when a factual error is found, a retailer URL changes, or a guide becomes stale. Material ranking changes should be reflected by updating the page's visible date and structured-data modification date.
What we do not claim
We do not claim that a site-owned ranking is an external award. We do not fabricate reader counts, star ratings, sales figures, editorial staff identities or third-party endorsements.
